Central Arkansas will shoot for its third win in four games when the Bears host Alcorn State in women's soccer action Friday at 5 p.m. at the Bill Stephens Track/Soccer Complex.
The Bears (2-2) will be eyeing their second consecutive win over a Southwestern Athletic Conference foe this season, having defeated Texas Southern 5-0 last Friday. Senior defender Julie Foerster and junior goalkeeper Kelsey Gochnauer earned Southland Conference Player of the Week honors following their performances in the win.
UCA won 6-0 at Alcorn State last season in the only meeting between the two programs. Six different Bears scored goals that day, and both Alex Barnett and Sarah Correll each had a goal and an assist.
It will be the final home game for the Bears, who play at Grambling State on Sunday before in-state road contests at UALR on Sept. 16 and UAPB on Sept. 23.
