COWGIRLS TOP SUGAR BEARS

LAKE CHARLES, La. - The University of Central Arkansas tennis team lost to McNeese State 7-0 in Southland Conference action on Saturday. With the win, the Cowgirls improve to 5-10 overall and 2-7 in league play, while the Sugar Bears fall to 1-16 and 0-10. UCA's final match of the season will be Sunday at Lamar.

MSU took the doubles point by winning two of the three decisions. UCA senior Katie Andersen and sophomore Kazumi Otani need a tiebreaker to defeat Maria Frausto and Kwynn Bigs 8-7 (10-3) in number two doubles.

Sugar Bear freshman Simona Horsikyan lost to Ilona Sechenko 6-1, 6-3 in number one singles. Junior Allison Hartman was bested by Biggs 6-2, 6-3 in number five singles.
