CONWAY, Ark. - The University of Central Arkansas tennis team lost to #63 UT Arlington in Southland Conference play on Saturday morning. With the win, the Mavericks improve to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in conference, while the Sugar Bears drop to 0-8 and 0-3.

UCA freshman Simona Horsikyan lost to UTA's Daiana Negreanu, one of the top players in the league, 6-0, 6-1 in number one singles. Senior Alex Rios fell to Katarina Mlcochova 6-3, 6-2 in number five singles. In number three singles, UTA's Linda Aqvist defeated sophomore Kazumi Otani 6-2, 6-2.

In doubles, Rios and freshman Maribelle Siegfried lost to Maria Martinez and Nikola Matovicova 8-3.

UCA will host Texas State in another conference matchup on Sunday at 10 a.m.
