NATCHITOCHES, La. — Central Arkansas came up empty against Northwestern State on Sunday, falling 7-0 as the Lady Demons ran their regular-season winning streak to 20, including 15 straight in Southland Conference play.
The Sugar Bears drop to 0-6 for the season and 0-2 against conference foes.
In doubles play, the Sugar Bears were swept with a pair of 8-2 defeats and an 8-0 shutout loss. UCA fared no better in singles, with sophomore Kazumi Otani coming closest to winning a set in a 7-5, 6-0 loss to Kathrin Lange.
The Sugar Bears are off until March 3, when they play their home opener against Murray State. It will be the first of three straight home matches for UCA, with UT Arlington coming to Conway on the 5th and Texas State on the 6th.
