With the University and the Athletics Department working in conjunction with one another, Bear fans will - beginning in 2012 - have the option for first-class amenities in an exclusive setting in the premium seating area, a set of 12 suites that will sit atop a new residence hall located just outside the East side stands of Estes Stadium.
"Premium seating at Estes has been a dream for many years," said Dr. Brad Teague, UCA Director of Athletics. "We have great fans and donors who have requested these seating options consistently in the past. The opportunity presented now, to partner with our institution on the Bear Hall project, is a perfect fit. We are able to satisfy our most important constituents, students and alumni, with this state-of-the-art facility"
Bear Hall, the new four-story residence hall which will house nearly 400 students, will be situated just east of the stadium at the site previously occupied by the parking lot outside the former Minton Hall location and the grassy area located behind the Physical Therapy building. Atop the building will be a fifth floor featuring the 12 luxury suites, 300 sq. ft. each, that will be accessible only through an elevator and entrance exclusive from the rest of the residence hall.
Each suite will feature indoor and outdoor seating that can accompany 20 fans, giving them a comfortable and luxurious setting in which to enjoy Central Arkansas football. The suite level will also contain a sports lounge area, restrooms, storage areas and food prep areas.
"The design features twelve luxury suites with full amenities to include two flatscreen TV's, ice maker, refrigerator, locking cabinets, and 20 tickets," Teague said. "There will be a sports lounge for a gathering place where the various patrons can visit. All skybox access is totally exclusive from the residence hall and vice-versa."
The suites lease for $25,000 a year with a 10-year commitment. Nine of the suites were spoken for at the time of the initial announcement, and commitments have already been solidified for 10 of the 12.
The groundbreaking ceremony for Bear Hall was held on Dec. 17, 2010.
