Farris Field (Softball)
Though Farris Field has served as the home of the UCA softball program since its inception in 1996, the facility as it exists today is virtually brand new.
Several renovations and upgrades in recent years have transformed the facility into one that provides a great experience for student-athletes and fans alike. The indoor hitting facility was renovated in 2016, following recent locker room upgrades. A state-of-the-art articifial playing surface was installed in the fall of 2011 by
Geo-Surfaces, the same professional engineering firm which installed the purple & gray striped turf football field at Central Arkansas' Estes Stadium. As part of the turf project, a large berm extending around the perimeter of the new 12-foot tall outfield fence was constructed, providing fans an alternative to the grandstand bleachers – allowing for blankets, lawn chairs, etc., creating a festive environment. The elevated grandstand was constructed in 2011, providing a great view above the playing surface for 500 fans. With the addition of the grass berm for the 2012 season, Farris Field can accommodate more than 1,000 spectators.
