Conway, Ark.- The Central Arkansas Bears (14-15, 4-5) and the North Alabama Lions (12-16, 5-4) will play a three-game ASUN series in Florence, Ala. First pitch on Thursday is set for 7 p.m., Friday 4 p.m. and Saturday 1 p.m. The Bears and Lions have played 18 times since 2022 with the Bears leading the series 12-6. Last season the Lions won five out of six games as the two teams played two three game series. The Bears and Lions will play again later this season in Conway on May 8-10.
Earlier this week the Bears had an in-state match-up with Arkansas Pine Bluff, before Tuesday the Bears had beaten the Golden Lions in 13 straight games. But on Tuesday the Bears had a tough outing on the mound and at the plate. The Bears gave up 13 runs on 15 hits and scored 3 runs on 3 hits. In ASUN games this year the Bears are batting .255 with 74 hits and a .441 slg% and their opponents are batting .283 with 86 hits and a .480 slg%.
The Lions are coming off of a loss in their midweek game, they were shutout at UAB 0-10. In ASUN game this year the Lions are batting .293 with 95 hits and a .488 slg% and their opponents are batting .310 with 92 hits and a .495 slg%.
