JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Central Arkansas (22-11, 15-3 ASUN) secured a 73-63 victory over Florida Gulf Coast University (16-18, 8-10 ASUN) on Saturday In the ASUN Championship semifinals at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. The Bears dominated inside with 36 points in the paint, contributing to their decisive win and setting the stage for their appearance in the ASUN Championship game tomorrow at 1 pm. for the first time in D1 program history.
Central Arkansas began the first half with a quick 3-pointer from
Camren Hunter, assisted by
Malchiah Marable, establishing an early lead. The Eagles responded with a series of baskets, including a 3-pointer by J.R. Konieczny, tying the game at various points. The Bears built momentum with contributions from
Ty Robinson and Harrison Beauchamp, maintaining a slight edge. The half ended with Isaiah Malone's dunk bringing Florida Gulf Coast within three, but Central Arkansas held a 35-32 advantage at the break.
