CONWAY, Ark. –
Jeremiah Boudreaux had a terrific weekend at the John McDonnell Invitational, and performed well enough to earn not just the ASUN Freshman of the Week, but also the ASUN Track Athlete of the Week.
Boudreaux had a dominant showing over the weekend, picking up two medals at the meet. He won first place in the 400m hurdles, setting a Central Arkansas record and setting the best mark in the ASUN this season with a time of 50.95 seconds. He finished 0.60 seconds faster than second place, which was a bigger gap than between second place and fifth place.
The freshman then competed as part of the 4x100 meter race with
Xavier Simpkins,
Kobe Gill and
Sloan Jones. The relay team captured third place, crossing the finish line with a time of 40.22 seconds.
Boudreaux is the latest of a slew of weekly awards for the Bears this season, which included the team sweeping the awards two weeks ago, claiming all six. Boudreaux was a part of that sweep, picking up the Track Athlete of the Week two weeks ago.
The Bears will compete again this weekend, heading to Nashville to compete in the Music City Challenge.
