FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Central Arkansas Bears turned in an impressive weekend at the John McDonnell Invitational, highlighted by Jeremiah Boudreaux's record-breaking performance in the men's 400-meter hurdles.
Boudreaux, a freshman, captured first place and set a new school record with a time of 50.95 seconds, cementing himself among the best in program history. His win led a strong showing for the Bears' men's squad, which also saw the 4x100m relay team race to a third-place finish with a time of 40.22 seconds. Ky Bickford added a personal best in the men's 800m, running 1:52.50, and Jeff King delivered a strong performance in the javelin with a throw of 61.57 meters, earning second place.
On the women's side, the Bears were equally impressive. The women's 4x100m relay team sprinted to a third-place finish with a time of 45.11 seconds. In the field events, Jennifer Peake led the way with a fourth-place finish in the javelin (38.91 meters), and Joia Perry secured third place in the discus with a throw of 42.26 meters. Meanwhile, Ali Nachtigal and Sara Steimel posted top-10 times in the women's 1500 meters, finishing seventh and eighth, respectively.
The Bears now turn their attention toward the stretch run of the outdoor season, with growing momentum and several standout performances fueling their drive toward championship competition.
