MONTGOMERY, Texas – The Central Arkansas men's golf team played two rounds of the Bentwater Intercollegiate, hosted by Rice University, on Monday. The Bears are in third after two rounds, led by
Bogdan Sandrini, who capped the day in second place.
Sandrini shot a 68 in the first round, sinking five birdies to start the day. He built on that in round two, adding three more birdies and an eagle to score a 70 to end the second round at a 4-under 138.
Maksymilian Bialy had a terrific first round, racking up six birdies to score a 4-under 67. He paired that with a 3-over 74 to end the day at one stroke under par in 17
th place.
Kalle Svederman had two birdies in round one, and he finished the first 18 with a 73. He built on that with a 70 in round two, with four birdies to his name. He turned in a two-round score of 1-over 143.
Noah Blaickner finished the day tied with Svederman, scoring a 75 in round one before recovering with a 3-under 68 in round two. Blaickner tallied five birdies in the second round, vaulting up the leaderboard.
Vukasin Suturovic sits at a 3-over 145 through 36 holes, scoring a 75 in round one, then finishing the day with a 1-under 70 in round two.
Central Arkansas trails only Sam Houston State and Midland College, trailing the leading Bearkats by six strokes. Abilene Christian's Preston Cooper leads the individual leaderboard, just one stroke above Sandrini, who is in a three-way tie for second.
