CONWAY, Ark. _ The University of Central Arkansas running back
ShunDerrick Powell picked up conference and national honors on Monday for his performance in the Bears' 45-17 victory over Austin Peay on Saturday night at Estes Stadium.
Powell, a senior from Hoxie, Ark., was named the United Athletic Conference (UAC) Offensive Player of the Week and the Stats Perform FCS National Offensive Player of the Week. Powell rushed 22 times for 173 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 7.9 yards per carry. He also caught four passes for 37 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown reception from quarterback

Powell leads the nation in rushing yards (475), rushing yards per game (158.3) and all-purpose yards (210.3), is tied for first in rushing touchdowns (6) and is fifth in rushing yards per carry (8.8).Â
