CONWAY, Ark. _ University of Central Arkansas'
Tucker Anderson was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Freshman of the Year on Monday.
Anderson, from Centerton, Ark., and Bentonville West High School, averaged a team-high 14.5 points per game and connected on a team-high 75 three-pointers. That single-season total for three-pointers ranks eighth in school history.
Anderson shot 38.1 percent from three-point range and 81.3 percent from the free-throw line. He averaged 3.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game, and added 27 steals and 14 blocked shots. Anderson scored in double figures 23 times, with a high of 26 points at Lipscomb. He had a season-high six three pointers, going 6 of 10 against Lipscomb and Eastern Illinois.
Anderson finished 14th in the ASUN in scoring average, seventh in three-pointers made and eighth in free-throw percentage.
Anderson is UCA's second Freshman of the Year in three seasons, following
Camren Hunter in 2021-22. Hunter missed the entire 2023-24 season with a foot injury.
