CONWAY, Ark. — Central Arkansas (1-3, 0-0) fell to Samford (3-2, 0-0) 84-77 in overtime at the Farris Center on Sunday. The game featured 12 ties and seven lead changes.
Central Arkansas opened the game with strong play in the paint, securing 24 points from close range. Hunter initiated the scoring with a layup just 17 seconds into play. The team maintained momentum with efficient shooting, making 17 of 31 field goals by the end of the half. Central Arkansas created separation midway through the first half with a 10–3 run, highlighted by a series of key layups, including a fast-break score by Robinson at 1:59. Despite six ties and six lead changes, Central Arkansas ended the first half ahead 41–30.
Central Arkansas maintained a narrow lead through much of the second half, highlighted by McCormick's layup at 18:20 and

Central Arkansas fought to stay competitive in the overtime, with Moore's fast-break layup at 2:49 tying the score at 74. This was part of a crucial stretch that kept the team within reach. Despite Hunter's successful 3-pointer with 44 seconds remaining, Central Arkansas could not overcome Samford's late free throws and strong defense. The game concluded with Samford securing an 84–77 victory.
