STUNT Falls in Saturday Swing

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Playing two of the three other Division I schools in the country, the Central Arkansas STUNT team dropped both games on Saturday, falling to reigning national champion California Baptist and UT Martin.

The team came out and competed against Cal Baptist, but playing against the premier program in the country is never an easy task. Despite fighting in all four quarters, the Bears fell 24-0 to the Lancers.

Central Arkansas put up a much better fight against UT Martin, scoring points in three of the four quarters. After the first, it was 2-1 in favor of the Skyhawks, but the execution in the partner stunts by the Bears was neck-and-neck with UT Martin. Both teams gained points in the jumps and tumbling routines in the second quarter, with UT Martin leading 5-2 after two. The pyramid routines in the fourth quarter netted two more points for the Bears, but not enough to overtake the Skyhawks.

The Bears are back in competition to start the month of April, closing out the regular season in Springfield, Mo. There, Central Arkansas will take on Missouri Baptist, Drury, Texas Woman's and Trevecca Nazarene.
