STUNT Opens Season in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Central Arkansas STUNT competed four times this weekend, playing three teams at Missouri State's campus. The Bears went 1-3, earning the first win under first year head coach Chloe Moxley.
 
Central Arkansas opened the year against UT Martin, falling 30-19. The Bears matched the Skyhawks in the first quarter, scoring the same three points as UT Martin. The Bears added three more in the second quarter, and two more in the third. Central Arkansas then scored 11 points in the fourth quarter, but couldn't close the gap against the Skyhawks.
 
The second game on Friday was against the host, Missouri State. The Bears earned one point to get things going, then recovered a step in the second with three points before halftime. The Bears scored three more points in the third quarter, and then picked up nine points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough to take down the hosts, as Central Arkansas dropped the result 29-16.
 
The Bears picked up their first win on Saturday, winning the opening game of the day against Missouri Valley. Central Arkansas blanked its opponent in the first quarter, picking up four points to zero. Missouri Valley scored one in the second, but once more, four points were awarded to the Bears, who went into halftime up 8-1. The third quarter went 5-3 in favor of Central Arkansas, and the Bears capped the win with a 14-7 fourth quarter.
 
Central Arkansas wrapped up its weekend with one more game against Missouri State. The game was tied after one, with both teams claiming four points. The margin was only one point at halftime, with Missouri State narrowly outscoring Central Arkansas 5-4. Missouri State pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Bears 4-0 in the third and 17-9 in the fourth to close the weekend for Central Arkansas.
 
The Bears are back in action next week, heading to Dallas, Texas to play four games.
