NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Central Arkansas STUNT team opened its weekend on the wrong side of the scorecard, dropping games against Kentucky and Maryville on Friday.
Central Arkansas struck first against the Wildcats, scoring the first point of the game in the first quarter. Though Kentucky would grab two by the end of the frame, it felt like the Bears would be able to do some damage. But that first quarter point would prove to be the only one scored against Kentucky, despite some great effort and execution from the Bears. Kentucky would go on to win 21-1.
The Bears opened up the second game of the day against Maryville falling behind 3-0 after the first quarter. Despite regrouping for the second, Central Arkansas fell behind 7-0 at half. The Bears picked up points in each of the third and fourth quarters, but it wasn't enough to take the lead against Maryville.
Central Arkansas is back in action tomorrow, taking on California Baptist and UT Martin to finish off games against the three other Division I teams this weekend. Game time against Cal Baptist is set for 8:40 a.m.
