CONWAY, Ark. – After closing out the regular season with a pair of wins, Sugar Bear
Regan Harp was named the ASUN Freshman of the Week after helping the Central Arkansas volleyball team lock up the league's No. 3 seed headed into this week's ASUN Championship.
Harp claims her second Freshman of the Week award after logging back-to-back double-doubles last week, putting up 16 kills and 10 digs against EKU before closing the regular season with 10 kills and 12 digs against Bellarmine. She contributed a team-best 32 points over the two matches, adding five total blocks and three service aces as well.
The Fayetteville native finished her first regular season in Purple and Gray with 274.5 points, good for third on the team, with 234 kills and 213 digs, posting six double-doubles across 26 matches. She also added 23 service aces and 29 total blocks in her freshman season.
Harp and the Sugar Bears end the season with nine weekly awards, claiming at least one of all four weekly honors. Central Arkansas now turns its attention to the ASUN Championship, which starts on Thursday. As the No. 3 seed, the Sugar Bears will face North Florida in the opening game of the Championship, playing at 9 a.m. CT.
