CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas cross country teams excelled in both the classroom and on the course this season, and the ASUN rewarded several athletes for their academic endeavors.
"Any time you get a team member on the ASUN All-Academic team it's a huge honor. To have three of our athletes make the team just shows their dedication to not only being a high achieving athlete, but thriving as a true student athlete. I am very proud of their work in and out of the classroom." Head coach

From the women's team,
Madeline Hill and
Ali Nachtigal were named to the Academic All-ASUN team, closing out their cross country careers on a high note. Hill, a Health Promotion major that maintains a 4.0 GPA, earned her second nod on the academic team, highlighting the consistent nature of her efforts both athletically and academically. Hill was also an addition to the Second Team All-ASUN team this season, based on her finish at the ASUN Championship. Nachtigal earned her first spot on the academic team, holding a 3.69 GPA while wrapping up her nursing degree. The senior runner was also a Second Team All-ASUN runner this season, finishing the ASUN Championship in the top-20.
On the men's side,
Pete Johnson earned a spot on the academic honor list due to his ability to maintain a 4.0 GPA while completing a degree in Physical Therapy. Johnson also earned a postseason honor for his athletic endeavors, finishing the ASUN Championship in 21
st to claim a Third Team All-ASUN nod.
The Bears compete this weekend in the NCAA Regionals, running at Texas A&M on Friday, November 15
th.
