Jacksonville, Ala. – Central Arkansas got off to a bit of a rocky start in ASUN conference play on Friday night, losing to Jacksonville State in four sets.

The second set started much closer, as it was tied 3-3 in the early going. Later, with the score 7-5 in favor of the Gamecocks, JSU would score six unanswered points. Despite all the runs from the Gamecocks, the Sugar Bears used a pair of 4-0 scoring runs to make it a 17-15 advantage for JSU. The Sugar Bears used four runs of three unanswered points and then used a 5-0 run to make it 19-11. These runs propelled Central Arkansas to a 25-19, as an Alexis Stumbough kill finished off the Gamecocks.
