This is the 6th installment of our series highlighting senior student-athletes from all spring sports whose seasons – and in many cases careers – were cut short due to cancellation of competition across all sports in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Though they perform at many games and other functions throughout the school year, the UCA cheerleaders just one chance to compete each year with the national competition in Daytona, Florida.
Except this year.
Typically, when April rolls around, the UCA cheer squad – which has 5 national championships to its credit since 2000 – is preparing for its performance on the Daytona Beach Bandshell. This year, due to the coronavirus outbreak, that performance never happened. One of the seniors who missed out on that final performance is the subject of today's spotlight – Brooke Gober of Vilonia.
