FRISCO, Texas – The league office announced today that senior
Abbie Harry and sophomore
Madi Bowles were named to the SLC All-Conference Second Team while junior
Emily Doss was named to the SLC All-Conference Third Team. All three were named to the teams after having career seasons in 2019.
ABBIE HARRY – SECOND TEAM
Harry was the offensive MVP for the Sugar Bears in her final campaign. She finished the regular season second in SLC in kills (season-high 429), points per set (4.22), points (481) and kills per set (3.76) while ranking fourth in total attacks (1,1240) and attacks per set (10.88). For conference-only ranks, Harry finished second in total kills (271), kills per set (4.30) and points (300). She turned in eight 20+ kill matches on the year and also shown defensive flashes with 10 double doubles in 2019. She also flexed a season-high 219 digs on the year, good for third-highest on the roster as an outside hitter. Along with those stats, Harry also led the team in service aces with 32.
MADI BOWLES – SECOND TEAM
Bowles took the next step during her second campaign as she took last year's numbers of 32 kills in 12 matches and transformed them to a team second-best 327 kills on only 87 errors. Her conference-only hitting percentage mark of .377 ranked third while her overall mark of .317 ranked fourth. She finished the regular season with five 15+ kill matches on the year with a season-high 23 against UIW on October 3.
EMILY DOSS – THIRD TEAM
Doss turned in a marvelous junior campaign as she finished with a season-high 553 digs for 4.57 per set. She had 11 20+ dig matches along with three 30+ performances, including a season-high 35 against Houston Baptist on November 7. She currently sits at No. 11 in program history with a career-mark of 3.95 digs per set with one season remaining.
