Conway – The University of Central Arkansas placed 124 student-athletes on the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for the Spring 2017 semester, the league office announced on Tuesday.
UCA's 125 honorees was good for third-most among the conference's 13 member institutions. Central Arkansas had 21 student-athletes achieve a perfect 4.00 GPA for the semester, with the women's track and field team turning in nine 4.00's and men's track and field and baseball each adding five perfect GPAs.
All told, 1,347 student-athletes from around the Southland Conference were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll, with 270 of them collecting 4.00 GPAs. Eight universities had at least 100 student-athletes honored.
The spring honor roll includes student-athletes who took part in baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, softball, men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's track and field during the Spring 2017 semester.
The women's track and field team led the way for Central Arkansas with 32 honorees, followed by baseball with 29, men's track and field with 19, softball with 16, men's basketball with 11, women's basketball with seven, women's golf with six, and men's golf with five.
