MOORE BOWS OUT AT 7-00.25 AT NCAA OUTDOORS

    EUGENE, Ore. _ University of Central Arkansas sophomore Eric Moore bowed out at 7-feet, 1/4-inches on Friday night at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the University of Oregon's storied Hayward Field.

    Moore, a sophomore from Rialto, Calif., cleared the opening height of 6-11.25 on his first attempt. Moore and 10 other competitors then failed to clear 7-00.25. Moore tied for 13th place as 12 competitors advanced to the next height of 7-02.25.

    Moore reached the NCAA Outdoors for the first time by tying for fourth at the NCAA West Preliminaries two weeks ago in Lawrence, Kan. He also competed at the NCAA Indoors in March, tying for 14th after bowing out at 7-01.75. He wss UCA's first national qualifier since moving to NCAA Division I in 2006-07.

    Moore, the Southland Conference indoor and outdoor champion this season, set school records in both indoor (7-02.50) and outdoor (7-01) in just his second season of competition at UCA. Moore holds the top seven indoor marks in UCA history and six of the top seven in outdoor history.
