Two Bears Earn ASUN Performer of the Week Honors

CONWAY, Ark. – After meets in Texas this past weekend, the Atlantic Sun Conference has named two Central Arkansas men's track and field athletes to the Performer of the Week list. Jaden Schneeberger was named men's Field Performer of the Week, and Clifton McBride Jr. was named men's Track Performer of the Week.

Schneeberger's selection comes after his outstanding performances in the hammer throw and shot put events at the Bobcat Invitational. In the hammer throw, Schneeberger marked at 64.74 meters (212-05), placing 2nd and setting a new Central Arkansas outdoor school record. The throw is also the 30th best mark in the nation so far, as well as the leader in the ASUN.

In the shot put, Schneeberger came in 5th with a 17.19-meter (56-05.75) toss. Currently, the senior holds the 67th best mark in the nation and the top shot put performance in the ASUN this season.

McBride's honors follow a solid opening weekend for the sprinter, who competed in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash events at the Bobcat Invitational meet. McBride finished in 6th in the 100-meter event with a time of 10.58, the third best mark in the conference on the young season.

In the 200-meter event, McBride earned a 15th place finish with a time of 21.13. His performance earned him the 98th best time in the nation this season, as well as the top time in the ASUN.

The Bears will look ahead to the Arkansas Spring Invitational on Saturday in Fayetteville. More information is still to come on that meet.
