With the Bears' 17-13 win at Missouri State last weekend, 14th-year head coach Clint Conque reached a major milestone as he recorded the 100th victory of his career at the University of Central Arkansas - becoming just the second NCAA football coach in the history of Arkansas to reach that plateau, joining longtime University of Arkansas coach and athletic director Frank Broyles. 

Since defeating Southwest (Mo.) Baptist 23-7 on Sept. 9, 2000, Conque has since coached the Bears to 99 more victories – winning three conference championships, making four NCAA playoffs, and putting together 10 winning seasons along the way while making the Bears the winningest collegiate team in Arkansas despite undergoing a transition from Division II up to Division I.

Less than 10 percent of Division I coaches across both FCS and FBS have achieved 100 or more wins at their respective school. 

The Bears have consistently handled their opposition throughout Conque's tenure, winning the 100 games by an average of just more than 21 points per game. In all, 47 of the wins have been by 21 or more points with only 10 by three or fewer. Last season the Bears got their highest point total and most lopsided win to date, defeating Bacone 70-3 in the 2012 home opener at Estes Stadium. With the most recent win, the Bears put up their second-lowest point total in any of Conque's wins with 17. The lowest also came against Missouri State in a 16-14 win in 2006, the first Division I game hosted at Estes Stadium.

The Bears will go for Conque's 101st win and their third of the 2013 season on Oct. 5 when they return to The Stripes to host McNeese State in the annual Red Beans & Rice Bowl at First Security Field at Estes Stadium.
