ITTA BENA, Miss. _ The University of Central Arkansas Bears got a pair of home runs from Forrestt Allday and Ethan Harris to beat the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils in non-conference baseball action on Tuesday.
Harris, a junior outfielder from White Hall, had a three-run homer in the second inning and Allday, a junior outfielder from Friendswood, Texas, hit a two-run shot in the third inning as the Bears (5-6) jumped out to a 10-5 lead after three innings.
Senior first baseman Bryan Willson went 4 for 4 for the Bears, while Harris was 2 for 4 with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. Allday was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored.
The Bears scored four runs in both the first and second innings, but the Delta Devils got five runs in the second inning off of five hits and an error. UCA added another run in the fifth when Logan Moon tripled and scored on an error, and another in the eighth on Willson’s RBI single.
UCA used nine pitchers, with junior reliever Clint Green (1-0) getting the victory, striking out three and allowing one run in two innings of work.
The Bears return to Southland Conference play this weekend, hosting the Lamar Cardinals beginning at 6 p.m. Friday.
