DICK RECEIVES NATIONAL HONORS

Nathan Dick threw for 372 yards and 4 touchdowns against Louisiana Tech
CONWAY, Ark. _ University of Central Arkansas quarterback Nathan Dick was named the national Offensive Player of the Week by The Sports Network/Fathead.com and was also named a College Sporting News All-Star for the week on Monday.

Dick, a 6-foot-4, 222-pound junior from Allen, Texas, led the Bears to a near upset of FBS Louisiana Tech on Saturday in Ruston. Dick completed 29 of 52 passes for a career-high 372 yards and a career-high four touchdowns. It was the 10th best passing yardage total in school history and Dick’s third 300-yard passing game of his UCA career.

Dick completed touchdown passes of 17 and 56 yards to junior Jesse Grandy and 3 and 43 yards to junior Dominique Croom.

For the season, Dick has completed 56 of 88 passes for 652 yards and 7 touchdowns, a completion rate of 63.6 percent. He ranks sixth in the nation in passing yards at the FCS level and is tied for sixth in pass completions per game.

The Bears (1-1) open Southland Conference play on Saturday at Sam Houston State (1-0) in Huntsville, Texas.
