Jonathan Houston went 3 for 4 against Missouri on Tuesday
COLUMBIA, Mo. _ The Missouri Tigers scored six runs in the second inning and it sent them on their way to an 11-4 non-conference victory over the University of Central Arkansas Bears on Tuesday at Taylor Stadium.

The Bears (9-12) had taken a 1-0 lead in the first on a triple by freshman Jonathan Davis and an RBI single by Ethan Harris. But the Tigers (11-10) responded with six runs, all earned, in the second inning and never trailed again. UCA, which out-hit Missouri 13-12, scored two runs in the third inning and one more in the ninth.

The Tigers got six runs in the second on six hits off UCA starter Dustin Ward. UCA pulled within 6-3 in the third when Davis and Jonathan Houston had consecutive singles and Bryan Willson walked to load the bases. Travis Snider's sacrifice fly scored Davis before Travis Fuller's base hit loaded the bases again.

Greg Noble added another sacrifice fly, scoring Houston. Houston, UCA's leading hitter, went 3 for 4 to raise his average to .364. Davis was 2 for 5 with his second triple in the last three games.

The Tigers put up four more runs in the sixth on five hits and an error. UCA got its final score in the ninth when Houston got a base hit to right field, went to second on a ground out and scored on Doug Votolato's double down the right-field line.

Missouri designated hitter Jonah Schmidt was 3 for 5, while first baseman Scott Sommerfield went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI. Ward (2-2) took the loss, with Jeff Emmens (1-0) taking the win with 3.2 innings of relief.
