FRISCO, Texas - University of Central Arkansas senior Chloe Smith was named the Southland Conference Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Smith, a right side hitter from San Diego, Calif., powered the Sugar Bears to a pair of home conference victories by averaging 3.78 kills per game hitting .363. In Thursday's five-set win over Sam Houston State, Smith connected on a season-best 22 kills and hit .400. She also had eight digs, an ace and a block. In Saturday's four-setter against Stephen F. Austin, Smith hit .314 with 12 kills, seven digs and three blocks. The honor is the seventh SLC Player of the Week award of Smith's career.

Junior libero Cristin Curl was an honorable mention for the Defensive Player of the Week.

The Sugar Bears will look to defend their 21-match Prince Center winning streak tonight when they host North Dakota State at 7 p.m. The Bison are 8-5 on the season and 5-0 in The Summit League. They went 18-0 in conference play last year.
