CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas women's soccer team is back in action on Sunday, heading out for its first road match of the season at Tulsa. Kickoff against the Golden Hurricane is set for 7 p.m. at Hurricane Soccer Stadium.
The Bears (0-1) stumbled out of the gates on Wednesday, falling to Oral Roberts at home. The bright spot of the match was freshman
Liza Dugan notching her first-career score, coming late in the match off an assist from
Megan Moudy. Dugan was one of four Bears to make their collegiate debut against the Golden Eagles.
Tulsa has become a pretty regular early-season opponent for the Bears, and although Central Arkansas is still looking for another win in the series, several Bears have seen some personal success against the Golden Hurricane.
Sophia Backstrom and
Caroline Billings each have goals against Tulsa.
The Golden Hurricane were selected fifth in the American Preseason Coaches Poll, after going 9-6-5 last season. Tulsa posted a 4-3-3 record in the American Conference, then bowed out in the first round of the conference tournament.
Kickoff against Tulsa is set for 7 p.m. on Sunday. The match will be streamed on ESPN+, with live stats available online.
