CONWAY, Ark. – The Atlantic Sun Conference announced postseason awards on Wednesday, with five Central Arkansas athletes,
Brenae Allen,
Joia Perry,
Zoe Williams,
Jaden Schneeberger, and
Nathan Uptagrafft being honored as Most Outstanding Performers.
Allen earned the Women's Most Outstanding Track Performer award. In the 200-meter dash this season, Allen earned three top-five finishes, including a gold medal and a school record at the ASUN Championships. Allen also earned gold medals in the 100-meter dash and 4x100 relay, earning MVP honors after totaling 22.5 points for the Bears. Allen finished the season ranked first on the ASUN leaderboard in the 100-meter and 48
th in the West Region. Allen also ranked second on the 200-meter list and 60
th in the West Region.
Perry was named Women's Most Outstanding Field Performer. Over the course of the season, Perry earned five top-five finishes, including first-place finishes at the Little Rock Invitational and ASUN Championships. Perry also set a conference and school record with her mark of 63.71 meters (209-00) at the Championships. Perry finished the season ranked first on the ASUN leaderboard in the hammer throw, 17
th in the West Region, and 28
th in the NCAA.
Williams earned the Women's Most Outstanding Freshman award. Throughout the season,
Zoe Williams claimed three top-five finishes in the 100-meter hurdles, including a gold at the ASUN Championships, and broke the school record twice. Williams finished the season ranked first on the ASUN leaderboard for the 100-meter hurdles and 54
th in the West Region.
On the men's side,
Jaden Schneeberger was unanimously named Men's Most Outstanding Field Performer. Over the course of the season, Schneeberger earned six top-five finishes in shot put, including first-place finishes at the Little Rock Invitational, Music City Challenge, and ASUN Championships. Schneeberger also placed in the top-five five times in the hammer throw, including a gold medal at the Championships. The senior also earned one top-five finish in the discus throw.
Schneeberger also rewrote the school record book three times in the shot put, and twice in the hammer throw. The senior finished the season ranked first in the ASUN in the shot put, 27
th in the west region, and 48
th in the country. In the hammer throw, Schneeberger ranked first in the ASUN, 22
nd in the West Region, and 38
th in the nation.
Uptagrafft was named Men's Most Outstanding Freshman after a season where he earned MVP honors at the ASUN Championships, totaling 26 points for the Bears. Uptagrafft earned two top-five finishes in the decathlon this season, including a gold medal and school record at the ASUN Championships. Uptagrafft also earned a second-place finish in the pole vault and fifth-place finishes in the discus and javelin at the Championships.
