CONWAY, Ark. – Championship season is back once again and the Central Arkansas track and field teams traveling to Jacksonville, looking to defend the outdoor ASUN titles, beginning on Thursday. Events are scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. CT on Thursday, starting with the combined events.
The Bears enter the Championships atop the conference in six men's events and seven women's events.
Freshman Clifton McBride enters as the ASUN leader in the 200-meter with a time of 21.03, 0.30 seconds quicker than fellow Bear,
Keaton Hansard, who occupies the second-best time. McBride has earned ASUN Track Performer of the Week honors once this season.
Jaden Schneeberger has put together a solid year in throwing events, holding the top spots in shot put and hammer throw this season. The senior has broken the school shot put record twice and the hammer throw record once, as well as two selections as ASUN Field Performer of the Week.
Freshman
Eli Jones sits atop the ASUN leaderboard in the discus event with a throw of 50.28-meters (164-11), just over four feet farther than the second-place slot. Jones has also earned a selection as ASUN Freshman of the Week this season.
Jeff King holds the title of ASUN leader in the javelin throw with a distance of 66.56 meters (218-04). The sophomore broke the school record for javelin throw this season.
Sloan Jones leads the conference in decathlon performances with a total score of 6987, breaking the school record.
On the women's side,
Brenae Allen leads the ASUN in the 100-meter, with a time of 11.47, 0.02 seconds faster than the next closest athlete. Allen has also earned a selection as ASUN Track Performer of the Week this season.
Zoe Williams sits at the top of the leaderboard in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.50. The freshman has broken the school record twice this season as well as being named ASUN Freshman Performer of the Week once.
Sadie Hamby leads the ASUN in the javelin with a distance of 38.74 meters (127-01).
Baliee Villavaso leads the conference in pole vault after breaking the school record with a 4.00-meter (13-01.5) clearance.
Joia Perry tops the ASUN in the hammer throw at 63.06 meters (206-10), over 20 feet farther than the next closest athlete. Perry has broken the school record in the event once and earned a selection of ASUN Field Performer of the Week this season.
Keirstin Moore leads the pack in the heptathlon performance, totaling 4481 total points.
The combination of
Troynelle Miller,
Raghan Allen,
Baleigh Cashion, and
Brenae Allen lead the conference in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 44.77.
