CONWAY, Ark. – The Atlantic Sun Conference has announced its Academic All-ASUN Teams and Scholar-Athlete of the Year selections Wednesday, including several Central Arkansas athletes. The men's squad is represented by six selections, and Scholar-Athlete of the Year, while the women's side includes four honorees.
On the men's side, Central Arkansas is represented by
Trae Baker,
Jack Dingman,
Logan Dingman,
Ethan Eddy,
Keaton Hansard, and
Nathan Uptagrafft, who was also honored as Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Baker was honored after maintaining a 3.71 GPA as a finance major. Baker earned two points for the Bears at the ASUN Championships with a seventh-place finish in the 800-meter run.
Jack Dingman earned his selection by maintaining a 3.91 GPA while earning a graduate degree in computer science. Dingman broke the Central Arkansas school record in the 1500-meter run twice over the course of the season with a best time of 3:45.30. Dingman earned three points in the Championships for the Bears with a sixth-place finish in the 1500-meter run.
Logan Dingman was selected by earning a 3.83 GPA as a biology major. Dingman earned a point for UCA with an eighth-place finish in the steeplechase event at the Championships.
Eddy earned his selection by completing the season with a 3.61 GPA in applied data analytics. Eddy earned three points for the Bears with a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw event at the Championships.
Hansard was selected following a season where he maintained a 3.57 GPA in exercise science. Hansard scored 13 points in the Championships for Central Arkansas with a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash and a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter dash.
Nathan Uptagrafft was honored with a selection to the Academic All-ASUN Team as well as Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Year, earning a 3.88 GPA as a biology major. Uptagrafft earned MVP honors at the ASUN Championships, scoring 26 points for the Bears with a first-place finish in the decathlon, second-place in pole vault, and fifth-place finishes in discus and javelin.
On the women's side, the Bears were represented by
Madisyn Crandall,
Karis Martin,
Keirstin Moore, and
Symone Quiles.
Crandall was selected after earning a 3.69 GPA as a family and consumer sciences major. Crandall earned 14 points for UCA at the Championships with a second-place finish in the javelin, and a third-place finish in the heptathlon.
Martin earned the nod by maintaining a 3.65 GPA in interior design. Martin earned five points for Central Arkansas with a fifth-place finish in the long jump at the Championships.
Moore was selected by earning a 3.90 GPA as a pre-BSN nursing major. Moore finished second in the MVP race at the Championships with 18 total points after second-place finishes in long jump and heptahlon, and a seventh-place finish in javelin.
Quiles earned Central Arkansas' final selection by earning a 3.61 GPA in biology. Quiles earned nine points with a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles and a fifth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles at the Championships.
