TULSA, Okla. — Central Arkansas (19-18, 7-8) secured a 5–3 victory over Oral Roberts University (20-14, 11-1) on Tuesday at Chapman Park, their second win over the Golden Eagles in as many games this season.
Nate Negre hit two home runs and the Bears scored three runs in the fifth inning to take control of the game.
The Bears defense also had a big impact on the game throwing two Golden Eagles out at home. First it was

Carter Alexander in the 5th inning, then in the 6th it was
Zeb Allen to C. Alexander to get runners out at the plate.
Oral Roberts took an early lead in the second inning after Kole Dudding's ground out allowed Cooper Kelly to score, followed by Will Edmunson's RBI single, bringing home Cooper Combs. The Golden Eagles led 2–0 after two innings.
Central Arkansas responded in the fourth inning when
Nate Negre singled and later scored on
Keaton Laidley's ground out. The score was 2–1 in favor of the Golden Eagles after four innings.
In the fifth inning, the Bears seized the lead with a three-run homer by Negre, which brought in
Carter Alexander and
Zeb Allen. Oral Roberts added a run in the bottom half of the inning with a fielder's choice, making it a 4–3 game in favor of Central Arkansas through five innings.
Central Arkansas extended its lead in the seventh inning as Negre hit a solo home run, bringing the score to 5–3.
Strong pitching performances in the later innings, including
Hunter Alexander's four strikeouts over two innings, secured a 5–3 victory for Central Arkansas over Oral Roberts.
Samuel Curtis started the game, pitching 2 innings and allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits, while striking out 1 without issuing any walks.
Silas Cowgill followed with 2 innings of relief, surrendering 2 hits and striking out 1, securing his third win of the season.
JB Williams contributed 1 1/3 innings, giving up 3 hits and striking out 1, while
Nicholas French pitched a clean inning, striking out 2 batters on 10 pitches.
Hunter Alexander closed out the game with 2 innings, striking out 4 and earning his seventh save of the season.
