FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Central Arkansas track and field teams are back in action this Saturday, traveling to Fayetteville to take part in the Wooo Pig Classic. Field events are scheduled to start at 11 a.m., while running events are set for a 12 p.m. start.
Last time out, the Bears broke an impressive eight school records at the Washburn Open and Multi meet, recording 57 top-ten finishes. Three Bears,
Joia Perry,
Jaden Schneeberger and
Zoe Williams, also received ASUN Performer of the Week honors for their efforts.
On the men's side, Schneeberger earned the top spot in the weight throw with a mark of 19.56m. He also placed fourth in the shot put event with a 16.51m throw.
Nathan Uptagrafft broke the Central Arkansas school record for total points in the heptathlon with 5288 points and a first-place finish.
On the women's side,
Jane Musengwa had a 14.08m mark in the shot put to claim a new school record and second-place.
Madeline Hill shattered the school record in the 5000m run with a time of 16:53.21 to finish fourth overall.
The next record breaker for the Bears was
Brenae Allen. She set a new school record in the semi-final round of the 60m dash with a time of 7.36.
In the pole vault,
Bailee Villavaso broke her own record with a 4.02m vault, finishing in second-place.
Joia Perry also broke her own school record in the weight throw event, also setting a new meet and facility record in the process. She earned first place with a 20.42m throw.
Zoe Williams was a double record breaker in the meet. She set a new school record in the qualifying round of the 60m hurdles with an 8.57 time. She followed up in the finals round by beating that time by over a tenth of a second, finishing third with a time of 8.45.
