CONWAY, Ark. — Central Arkansas (6-5, 0-0) fell to South Dakota State University (4-6, 0-0) 8-5 on Saturday at Bear Stadium. The Bears scored all five of their runs in the last four innings, highlighted by a three-run eighth.
South Dakota State University took an early lead in the second inning with a two-RBI double down the left-field line by N. Werk, bringing in Taylor and Wroblewski. This gave the visitors a 2-0 advantage.
In the fourth inning, the Jackrabbits extended their lead to 3-0 when Franke scored on a ground out by Wroblewski.
Central Arkansas mounted a comeback in the sixth inning.
Zeb Allen doubled down the right-field line and later scored on a two-run homer by
Landon Carter, narrowing the gap to 3-2.
South Dakota State responded in the seventh inning with three runs. Wachter's double and subsequent errors allowed Wachter, Franke, and Taylor to cross the plate, increasing their lead to 6-2.
The Bears reduced the deficit in the eighth inning.

Nate Negre to score. Allen added another unearned run on a sacrifice fly by
Parker Gwyn, making it 7-5.
The Jackrabbits added an insurance run in the ninth inning when a pinch runner scored on a sacrifice fly, resulting in an 8-5 final score in favor of South Dakota State.
Central Arkansas pitchers combined for a challenging outing against the Jackrabbits.
Caden Meeler started and pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing three earned runs on four hits while striking out two and walking two.
JB Williams relieved and contributed 3 1/3 innings, surrendering two earned runs with two strikeouts and no walks.
Jake Jones followed, pitching 1 1/3 innings and giving up two runs on four hits with one strikeout.
Kannon Nesslage closed the game, recording two outs without allowing a hit or a run.
