FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Four athletes from the Central Arkansas track and field teams wrapped up the first day of competition on Friday at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston.
Jack Dingman started the day off for the Bears in Boston by breaking his own school record in the one-mile run. His time of 4:01.73 broke his previous record by nearly two seconds and was good for a 36
th place finish out of 283 finishers.
Back in Fayetteville,
Jaden Schneeberger took 18
th in the men's weight throw with a 20.86-meter mark.
On the women's side,
Madeline Hill earned a 16
th place finish in the 3000-meter run with a time of 9:42.85.
In the Bear's final event of the day,
Joia Perry placed 22
nd in the women's weight throw, marking at 19.27 meters.
Still to come,
Bailee Villavaso will lead off the day for Central Arkansas tomorrow in the women's pole vault at 10:45 a.m. She will be followed by Dingman, who will be running the men's one-mile at 11:40, then Schneeberger will round out the meet in the men's shot put at 2 p.m.
