CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas men's soccer team dips back out of ASUN play for a non-conference match against Oral Roberts on Tuesday. The Bears and Golden Eagles square off at 7 p.m. in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Central Arkansas (1-5-2) picked up a point in the ASUN's table last time out, drawing 1-1 at Queens on Saturday. After surrendering an early goal, the Bears responded before halftime, with
Maxim Sheenkov's 42
nd minute goal leveling things. Sheenkov is the third Bear to tally a goal this season.
The Bears have started to get the offense going as of late, scoring a goal in each of the last three games, going 1-1-1 in those matches.
Devonte Richards has a team-best two goals this season, including the game-winner against Eastern Illinois. Last season's match against the Golden Eagles saw the Bears score in the fourth minute, followed by 86 scoreless minutes that gave the Bears a 1-0 win in Conway.
Oral Roberts (1-6-1) is sharing similar offensive struggles, scoring just six goals in eight matches. The Golden Eagles are on a three-game slide, scoring just once in the last three matches, all on the road. Similar to the Bears, ORU has played only a couple of games at home, with the last six being on the road.
Last time out, it was a 1-0 loss at Drake, after the Golden Eagles surrendered a 50
th minute score. It marked the second-straight match without a score for ORU, and the third-straight loss. Tuesday's match will be the first time at home for the Golden Eagles since August 24
th.
