CONWAY, Ark. – The ASUN has started to release its postseason awards, first up this morning is the Academic All-ASUN team. Central Arkansas, for its part, earned two spots on the team, in Jaxon Hinds and Joseph Mwamba.

"We emphasize the importance of academics in our group, so it's a great honor to see these two recognized for that," Head coach Kyle Segebart said of his two honorees. "To see these guys put in the amount of effort that they do on the field, but then also apply that same drive to their schoolwork and their future after soccer, it's a sign of great things to come for both of them."

Hinds, an accounting major, boasts a 3.67 cumulative GPA as he strives to complete his degree and enter the business world. On the pitch, he's been an incredibly important piece to a defense that ranked third in the ASUN in fewest goals allowed, and the Bears were even better in ASUN games, recording the league's second-best scoring defense.

Mwamba, a family and consumer science major, holds a 3.97 GPA as he nears the completion of his degree. Mwamba started all 15 of his appearances this fall, establishing himself as one of the best defenders in the ASUN with his athletic ability to stop attacks from box to box. With him on the back line, the Bears held the third-best scoring defense in the ASUN over the course of the regular season, and the second-best scoring defense in ASUN games. Joseph also scored a goal this season, tallying the game-winner against Lipscomb.

Central Arkansas locked up the No. 2 Seed in the ASUN Championship, earning the right to host at least half of the conference tournament. The Bears will face the winner of West Florida and Queens on Monday at 7 p.m.
