RENO, Nev. – The Central Arkansas men's golf team got through one complete round and most of a second at the team's NCAA Regional out in Reno, Nevada. After multiple delays for multiple reasons, the Bears have two golfers in the current top-30.
There have been several delays in play, including high winds on Monday that turned into snow on the course to start the day Tuesday. So, while the Bears were supposed to play one round per day, Monday ended up being just seven holes, putting the field behind the eight ball on Tuesday.
Vukasin Suturovic leads the team in 22
nd, and with four holes left in round two, he holds a score of 3-over 130.
Kalle Svederman is a few spots behind him, and just one stroke back after 32 holes. The pair combined for 11 birdies across their nearly two rounds, Svederman sinking six and Suturovic with five.
Bogdan Sandrini ended the day with a score of 8-over 135, sinking a pair of birdies in round two.
Noah Blaickner played in round one before pulling out, making room for Leo Isserentant to step in for round two.
BYU ended the day in first place before play was called off, followed closely by Virginia and Texas. Virginia's Paul Chang leads the individual leaderboard, sitting at six strokes under par with just a few holes left in round two. There is a four-way tie for second place, three strokes behind Chang.
