CONWAY, Ark. – Junior beach volleyball player
Madelyn White was announced as one of the ten ASUN players selected to the Academic All-ASUN Team, announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
White, a Political Science major, holds a cumulative GPA of 3.87, showcasing a unique ability to balance the rigors of a tough academic program with developing and excelling in her sport. Now in her junior season, White has become a staple of the lineup for the Bears this season, winning 14 matches across the ones, twos and threes. She posted 11 wins at the twos, her main court this season.
She is the first Bear to claim a spot on the ASUN's all-academic team since 2022, when Kelsie Sager earned a spot. White and the Bears get set for the ASUN Championship, starting tomorrow at 12 PM in Huntsville, Alabama. The Bears are the No. 7 seed, and will face the No. 2 seeded North Florida Ospreys.
"Madelyn is the epitome of being a student athlete at the highest level. Pulling out wins at the top of the lineup while also maintaining academic success in the Honors program makes her more than qualified for this award." – Head coach Avery Thibodeaux
