HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Central Arkansas Beach Bears team concluded its 2026 season at the ASUN Beach Volleyball Championship at John Hunt Park, falling to EKU, 3-0, in an elimination match on Thursday afternoon.
The Bears opened tournament play on Wednesday against No. 2 seed and No. 18-ranked North Florida, dropping a 5-0 decision in the opening round. Central Arkansas battled across the lineup, with pairs competing point-for-point against a nationally ranked Ospreys squad.
In Thursday's win-or-go-home matchup, the Bears showed resilience and competitiveness throughout the dual. With matches tightly contested, the outcome ultimately came down to Court 3, where Central Arkansas pushed EKU to a decisive third set. Despite the effort, EKU secured the clinching point to take the 3-0 victory.
Central Arkansas wraps up the season with a 13-19 overall record, gaining valuable experience throughout a competitive spring slate and postseason appearance. The Beach Bears showed growth and resilience throughout the year, competing against top conference and nationally ranked opponents.
