CONWAY, Ark. _ The University of Central Arkansas men's basketball program has added Chris Mason to its current signing class, according to head coach John Shulman.
Mason is a 6-foot-7, 250-pound forward from Tulsa, Okla. (Victory Christian), who is transferring from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Mason averaged 12.2 points and 8.5 rebounds as a freshman for the Golden Norse, while shooting 63 percent from the field. He had season highs of 21 points and 14 rebounds for a team that finished 28-4.Â
"We followed Chris for several months this past season, attending many of his practices and games, being from just down the road in Tulsa," said Shulman. "We knew Chris Mason was a heck of a player coming out of high school and we were excited to see him at NEO.Â
"Time and time again Chris proved why his skill set is exactly what we are looking for. He has an impressive basketball IQ that constantly shows when he is on the floor. Reading the game, playing with physicality, and stretching the floor with his jump shot are some of the things that our fans will see out of Chris next season."
