STUNT Splits Saturday Home Games

CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas STUNT team battled in two games on Saturday, falling in a nailbiter against Missouri State before rebounding to pick up a win over Southwest Baptist, the first win of the season for the Bears.

It was neck and neck the entire way against Missouri State. The home team started out taking a 3-2 lead after partner stunts. Both teams scored one point in pyramids, and the halftime score was 4-3 in favor of Central Arkansas. Missouri State added two points in tumbling, and held on for an 8-7 win over the home team Bears.

But Central Arkansas wasn't done fighting. Rebounding in game two, the Bears again started with a lead after the first quarter, up 2-0 after partner stunts. Pyramids also went in favor of Central Arkansas, and the lead was four going into halftime. Tumbling saw the squad add two more points, and the Bears wrapped up the shutout with an 11-0 finish.

The Bears are back on the mats next week, playing four games in Martin, Tennessee. Central Arkansas will play UT Martin and Northern Kentucky on Saturday, and Centenary and Missouri State on Sunday.
