CONWAY, Ark. _ The University of Central Arkansas Bears managed just three hits Tuesday night in falling 8-1 to the ULM Warhawks in non-conference action at Bear Stadium.
The Bears scored first in the second inning when
Blaine French walked, stole second and then scored after two passed balls. Junior shortstop
Noah Goodshield, making his first start of the season, was hit by a pitch, advanced to second on a wild pitch and to third on a failed pickoff attempt. But he was thrown out trying to steal home for the third out of the inning.
UCA would get just two more hits against four ULM pitchers. Starter Brennan Eager went 3.0 innings and got the victory, allowing 1 hit and 1 unearned run. UCA used five pitchers, with the trio of senior

Luke Carner combined to toss three scoreless innings out of the bullpen.

Bryce Cermenelli had two of UCA's three hits, with catcher
Casey Shipley getting the other. ULM finished with 12 hits, including three by leadoff batter Isaiah Walker, The Warhawks got home runs from Marcus Aranda and Angelo Aleman.
UCA is back at home again Wednesday when it hosts Arkansas State at 6 p.m. at Bear Stadium.
