CONWAY, Ark. - The track & field teams put on a stellar performance over the weekend, securing multiple top finishes across sprinting, distance, jumping, and throwing events. Both the men's and women's squads delivered dominant showings, with several athletes claiming individual titles and setting personal bests.
In the men's events,
Jonathan Heath and
Trae Baker led the charge in the 800m run, taking first and second place with times of 1:52.70 and 1:52.87, respectively.
Jack Dingman continued the team's success by winning the mile run in 4:09.59, followed closely by
Pete Johnson in second (4:12.87).
Mason Bickle clocked an impressive 15:01.97 in the 5000m run, earning first place.
On the track,
Jeremiah Boudreaux was a standout performer, winning both the 110m hurdles (14.04) and the 400m hurdles (52.73). The men's 4x400m relay team took first place in a time of 3:26.14, capping off a strong showing on the track.
In field events,
Trey Haworth cleared 6-4.5 to win the high jump, while
Maverick Walker took first in the long jump with a leap of 23-0.5.
Tomas Farr secured gold in the pole vault, clearing 13-6.5. The throws group also delivered, with
Jaden Schneeberger winning the shot put (55-2.25) and taking second in the hammer throw (194-2.25). Jeff King dominated the javelin, securing first place with a throw of 195-10.
On the women's side, the Bears opened with a plethora of top finishes, and a few top-10 marks in program history.
Joia Perry did
Joia Perry things, obliterating her own previous program record by nearly 20 feet, setting a new mark of 200-3.5. Her mark also stands as the 19
th in the nation.
Raghan Allen took home first place in the 100m with a time of 11.48, good for third all-time in Central Arkansas history, and the third time below 11.50.
Madeline Hill broke the program record in the one mile race, setting a new mark of 5:01.91.
Ali Nachtigal was just a couple of seconds behind her, and her time is now third all-time.
Kayleigh Wagnon's 5:06.14 will settle behind Nachtigal, meaning the Bears set three of the top-four times in a single run.
Keirstin Moore's long jump of 19-2.25 ties her for fourth all-time in program history.
