CONWAY, Ark. – After successful seasons in their disciplines, the Central Arkansas track and field teams claimed both Most Outstanding Field Performer awards, with throwers
Joia Perry and
Jaden Schneeberger earning the awards after dominant seasons.
Perry has become arguably one of the most electric competitors in the weight throw in program history, and broke the school record in her event multiple times over the course of the season. The first record-setter was 17.94m, and she would continue to add to that until her final throw in the ASUN Indoor Championships, a resounding 19.95m, adding over two meters of new records over the course of the season. Her Championships throw claimed gold for the sophomore, and won by more than two meters.
"Joia has developed and turned into not just an outstanding thrower, but a great teammate and leader. She puts team success above her own accomplishments, and I am looking forward to watching her develop even more over the years to come." – Head Coach

Schneeberger is also a dynamic, record-breaking thrower for the Bears, and he claimed two medals at the ASUN Indoor Championships to help the Bears' men's team cruise to a conference title. The senior took home gold in the shot put with a throw of 16.80m, then captured silver in the weight throw, with a distance of 20.02m. His gold medal shot put set a new program record, and marked the fourth time the record has been reset this year.
"I've had the pleasure of watching Jaden work at his craft for the past two years. He's a leader, and someone who is constantly trying to find ways to get better. I'm very proud of him for earning this honor, he's very deserving of it." – Head Coach
