Bohannan Hits 1,000 Kills; Sugar Bears Battle to Five Sets

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Central Arkansas dropped a hard-fought five-set battle to Lipscomb on Saturday night at Allen Arena, 3–2 (14–25, 25–23, 25–15, 23–25, 6–15). Despite the loss, the night marked a special milestone for senior Laci Bohannan, who recorded her 1,000th career kill in the match.

Bohannan led the Sugar Bears' attack with 17 kills, hitting .222 and adding 10 digs and four blocks to notch a double-double. Gabby Tuiaana chipped in 12 kills, while Ella Chaney added 11. Setter Caylan Koons was steady with 33 assists and five kills, and Alexis McDaniel anchored the defense with a team-high 22 digs.

After dropping the opening set, Central Arkansas bounced back to win the next two behind a strong offensive rhythm and consistent serving. The Sugar Bears battled to the wire in the fourth, but Lipscomb closed the frame late to force a decisive fifth, where they used a .684 hitting percentage to pull away.

With the setback, UCA moves to 13–11 overall and 10–4 in ASUN play, while Lipscomb improves to 9–5 in league action.

Bohannan's 1,000th kill highlights a standout career for the Sugar Bears as they look to finish the regular season strong and build momentum heading into the ASUN Championship.
