RICHMOND, Ky. — Central Arkansas delivered one of its most complete performances of the season Thursday night, sweeping Eastern Kentucky 3–0 (25–16, 25–18, 25–23) to move to
14–11 overall and 11–4 in ASUN play. The win also pulls the Sugar Bears even with EKU in the conference standings.
UCA's offense fired efficiently, hitting
.237 as a team while holding EKU to just
.105.
Laci Bohannan led the way with a match-high
13 kills, adding four digs and a pair of blocks.
Gabby Tuiaana followed with
8 kills and 11 points, and
McKinzee Haas contributed a strong
6 kills on .667 hitting.
Setter Caylan Koons ran the offense with poise, distributing 30 assists, collecting 8 digs, and adding a service ace and a block assist. Ella Chaney anchored the back row with a team-high 12 digs, while Alexis McDaniel added 9 digs and two service aces.
UCA controlled the match from the start, hitting nearly .400 in a dominant first set. Eastern Kentucky mounted a push in the third frame, but the Sugar Bears held strong through five lead changes to close out the sweep.
